Please introduce your company.
Woongjin is a company specializing in IT system consulting and operation services.
In particular, we are a professional partner in the field of SAP S/4HANA (ERP). We are ranked number one in the area of SAP Business One for SMEs. In addition, we are leading the implementation of Korean cloud solutions with cloud service broker businesses based on various infrastructure cloud transfers. We have customers from diverse industries ranging from one-person companies to companies with one trillion in sales, from companies to institutions, and we are growing together with our customers. Currently, as partners, we are also providing our customers with LINE WORKS and the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM. In recent years, we are expanding our business to AI consulting by collaborating with the NAVER artificial intelligence platform, CLOVA.
What was your reason for choosing the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM?
We chose the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM to provide the best service in the country.
Woongjin will face the task of “downsizing” in terms of IT system operations due to the reduced size of the group. Depending on the relatively high system operating costs, you may choose to replace the data equipment that was operated by IDC with the cloud. In order to flexibly cope with technological development outside the company in the rapidly developing digital age, we did not use a limited amount of resources, but rather used varied resources according to the circumstances. SAP R/3, the ERP of the existing group, was converted to S/4HANA, a digital core, and prepared to run on the cloud infrastructure.
First, we introduced the LINE WORKS, which can use groupware as a cloud, and it was supported by stable service from the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM. We then selected the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM, which was optimized for the domestic market, by comparing it with other well-known foreign solutions when the infrastructure cloud was introduced. In addition, Woongjin is the first and only customer to use the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM, which is a domestic cloud, and SAP S / 4HANA, an external ERP. We have proven that performance-sensitive SAP systems can be seamlessly serviced through a domestic cloud infrastructure.
What were some of the improvements after using the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM?
Using a bare metal product, we were able to streamline infrastructure costs and achieve easier equipment management.
Basically, using the cloud is similar to the concept renting. It is a type that charges only as much as it uses, and results in high efficiency at a low cost. This is not a purchasing concept, so you do not have to buy additional servers or increase or decrease capacity. While IDC requires a dedicated workforce within the company, the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM has the advantage of reducing time and cost, because it is managed by cloud experts after the cloud transition. In addition, security management, which was lacking in our workforce, has been enhanced by cloud security experts. Woongjin uses bare-metal equipment for the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM. Because hardware and operating systems can be configured in the same way as existing servers, they can be used in the cloud format. Therefore, there are many advantages, such as improving the technical capacity of the people who have operated IDC and reducing the need to replace old equipment.

When we wanted to introduce cloud services, we met various potential partners who were famous as domestic and overseas providers. And we made a comparative analysis of them to use them as cloud 100% or as an hybrid. As a result, we chose the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM for its SI flexibility and stability guarantees. All providers have pros and cons, but we were particularly amazed by the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM and their proactive attitude toward communicating and talking with us from a technological and user perspective by considering our country characteristics.
