Using the API
The REST API is provided to convert a Korean name into Roman letters. Since this is a non-authentication-based API, to use this service, you first need to encode the search word entered in the request URL using UTF-8 and include it in the query request parameter. When you make a GET call, you should also send the Client ID and Client Secret value that were issued when you registered the application in the HTTP Header.
This can be utilized in many services that need to recommend English spelling of Korean names in daily life, such as for passports, credit cards, and English business cards.
Service Usage Limit
The NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM allows you to use the Romanizer service for up to 25,000 characters a day per application.
Calling is allowed for the last call that exceeds the usage limit.
E.g., you have set the monthly usage limit to 1,000 characters. Once you use 990 characters, you can call an extra 20 characters. Then, you can use a total of 1010 characters. If you need to increase the service limit, please contact Customer Support.
