You can easily create a server within minutes using the web console. Even if you don’t install a separate operating system, you can create one by selecting a server image. You can also adjust the CPU and memory of the server you are already using by modifying specifications.
Basic monitoring features are available for CPU, network, memory, and disk. The monitoring service allows you to receive event notifications whenever the server status changes.
Security hardening is applied by default to all Linux and Windows servers provided by the NAVER Cloud Platform. For advanced security settings, you can get help from a team of security experts.
You pay only for the server capacity and time you use, which means you can plan your budget in advance. It is easy to add or remove servers even while running the service, so that you can respond quickly and flexibly to various situations.
It provides high performance I/O compared to standard servers, so you can handle your work reliably. The input/output operations per second (IOPS) performance of a solid state drive (SSD) server is proportional to the size of its storage.
If you need additional capacity beyond the default storage provided upon server creation, then you can easily expand its capacity. You can select HDD to store in-server data, or select SSD for fast data processing.
Init Script provides the automatic server settings and series of tasks when your server is created, using a language supported by the operating system. You can apply init scripts through the NAVER Cloud Platform console or RESTful API.
OS | Script Language |
|---|---|
Linux | Python, Perl, Shell script |
Windows | Visual Basic script |
NAVER Cloud enables communication between your servers through a private network. You can request for an IP address to allow public access and to launch external services. You can also enable external services by connecting the server to NAVER Cloud's Load Balancer.
NAVER Cloud provides a fixed public IP address for your various servers. You can allocate the address to a specific server, and the address can be reallocated from one server to another when necessary. To reallocate the IP address to a new server, you first need to set up the same environment as the existing server and simply allocate the address to a new server. In this way, the new server can run seamlessly without significant service disruption.
A Virtual Private Cloud (VPC) is a logically isolated virtual network, providing enhanced security to your virtual data and resources. You can use Subnet, NAT GW, ACG, and NACL to provide more network flexibility to VPC.
You can add a network interface to your server to use a private subnet. You can allocate an IP within the range of private subnets, and some IPs are for management purposes only.
My Server Image contains the status and information of a running server. You can simply create a server by coping the data from My Sever Image. In addition, you can use this function to restore a server state or change server specifications.
Server Image Builder enables you to configure Provisioners for each of VMs running on NAVER Cloud Platform. With this function, you can easily create a server image by setting the basic image, provisioning information, and additional storage.
The input/output operations per second (IOPS) are scaled in proportion to the storage allocation. This feature ensures persistence and reliability by preventing performance from degrading as data throughput increases, making it ideal for tasks that require fast I/O processing.
Unlike HDDs, which have physically moving parts, SSDs are disk media that consist of non-volatile flash memory with no physical movement. Due to the lack of physical movement, they have low latency and high processing bandwidth for I/O compared to HDDs. Therefore, SSDs can minimize I/O bottlenecks compared to traditional HDDs, making them ideal for services that require both fast response times and high bandwidth I/O performance.
You can choose one from a wide selection of server types optimized to fit different use cases. (Micro is only available in Korea).

NAVER Cloud provides an isolated virtual network environment to allow communication between servers that reside on the same host. You can use a subnet of 192.168.x.x/24 within the range of 192.168.0.0/16. To enable servers within an isolated virtual network environment to communicate among themselves using private subnets, you should add a network interface to the servers.
A VPC peering connection is a networking connection between two or more VPCs that enables you to establish private connections. NAVER Cloud Platform provides VPC peering connections with private subnets in different NAVER Cloud regions based on it's global networks. This feature helps to improve security vulnerability on networks and make your network connection stable. [Register Service]

A default disk is provided for operating system installation, and additional disks can be created directly if needed.
You can use the server on a monthly or hourly basis. If you use the server for less than a month on a monthly basis, the usage fee will be calculated and charged per day.
The prices below are applicable when the server is operating, and only the basic disk fee for OS installation is charged to discontinue server service.
When calculating the usage of the service usage history, one day is calculated on a 24-hour basis, and if it is less than 24 hours, it will be converted as follows and charged.
Operating days: 1 day for less than 24 hours (e.g., 26 hours of operation = 24 hours (1 day) + 2 hours (1 day) = 2 days of usage)
Number of days of stoppage: 0 days for less than 24 hours (e.g., 26 hours of rest = 24 hours (1 day) + 2 hours (0 days) = 1 day of usage)
However, there will be no server charge if you are eligible for a discount when the server is stopped. Please refer to the server stop charge information at the bottom of the portal for servers eligible for stop discount.

If you use less than one month of storage, the usage fee is calculated based on days used.
Ubuntu kernel updates are not supported. If the kernel is updated, the server may not function normally and NAVER Cloud does not support servers with updated kernels.
The OS fee is the software license fee. The server fee is charged separately based on the server specifications.
If you use Microsoft SQL Server, please check the following information:
1 license copy supports 4 vCPUs. If you use a server with 1–4 vCPUs, you must purchase 1 copy. 2 copies are required for a server with 8 vCPUs. 3 copies are required for a server with 12 vCPUs.
The MSSQL fee is the DBMS license fee. The server and OS (Windows) fees are charged separately. Example: When using MSSQL on a server with 2 vCPUs: KRW 69,000 (server) + KRW 20,000 (Windows license) + KRW 290,000 (MSSQL license) = KRW 379,000/month
The fee may change according to Microsoft’s policies and will be applied to existing customers.
Windows Server 2019 with MSSQL 2019 Express version (to be launced) is available for free, and only the servers prior to and including 4vCPU can be created.
When stopping a server service, only the fee on the basic disk provided for the installation of OS on some server types will be charged.
Fees for other resources connected to the server, such as public IP, load balancer, additional disks and Security Monitoring will be charged regardless of server stoppage. Please be sure to return the resources that are not used to avoid unnecessary billing problems. (Fees on OS and MSSQL will not be charged. However, Baremetal Servers will be charged the same even if they are stopped.)
Servers with discounted rates at the time of server stoppage may not stop the server for more than 90 days at a time or for more than a cumulative 180 days within 12 months. Servers that have exceeded the possible period for stopping the server will be withdrawn after notifying the customer. Servers that exceed this period will terminate the server after notifying the customer. A server that has been terminated cannot be restored.
