Global Region Service

Thanks to the global infrastructure used by NAVER and LINE, you can rely on stable and independent service around the world.
Singapore, US, Hong Kong, and Japan, EU regions are already in operation, and we will continue to further expand our global operations.

Global-dedicated Lines
Our global service is based on a network of global-dedicated lines connecting main points of presence around the world. These lines are independent from standard Internet connections and minimize issues related to heavy traffic or interference. Our lines are connected through various routes, so that detours can be implemented easily in case of failure. However, the communication speed between sites may vary according to the distance.
Reliable Security Capabilities
In all of our global regions, you can receive a Basic Security service based on IDS (Intrusion Detection System) by default. Based on security experts, technology and the know-how to respond to various security attacks on Naver and LINE service, our customers' data is protected 24/365. Not only that, but you can receive a higher level of security service using various types of security products, such as IDS, Anti-DDoS, Anti-Virus, IPS or WAF, with our Security Monitoring service. (Security Monitoring service is possible only in the Korea/Singapore/Japan/U.S. west/Germany regions and is currently under preparation so that it can be provided in all regions in the future.)
Convenient Access
Availability is secured with redundant configuration on all global regions. We guarantee system availability with high availability (HA) configuration on switches, security devices, and servers. Also, we have increased reliability and availability of our services through redundant configuration on all Internet lines and Global-dedicated lines. In particular, the Global-dedicated lines connect the main points of presence around the world with various ISP lines to secure the continuity of global service in case of emergency.
Easy to Use
To select and use any Global Region service, simply access the service with the web console, which has the same appearance and features as the general web console.
Efficient Cost Management
In most cases, global network services cost more than domestic services. But with the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM, you won’t pay more for Global Region service, because the fees are the same as our domestic service. Even though the installation of our global-dedicated lines required significant time and money, we have kept the rates low to ease your financial burden. In addition, there is no charge to copy a server image or use snapshots between regions.
Service Expansion by Rebuilding the Global Region
We are constantly adding and updating services so you can also use the services that are available in Korea in the global region. So we are currently rebuilding the infrastructure and network for each region. Currently, You can use the same services as the Korea region in the Singapore, Japan, US-West, and Germany regions.

The Global Region service utilizes the same configuration as our existing domestic services,
with added infrastructure for each respective region.

Global Region Locations

NBP’s global network currently has infrastructure footprints in 10 key locations and is continually expanding its cloud service regions.

Global Region Locations
  • 1. The regions for the key global footprints are implemented or under preparation.
  • 2. Coverage by region (country)
    • · US (West) Region: United States, Canada, Mexico, etc.
    • · Singapore Region: Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, etc.
    • · Hong Kong Region: Hong Kong, Taiwan, Macao, Vietnam, Philippines, etc.
    • · Japan Region: Japan
    • · Germany Region: Europe (21 EU countries), Africa, Middle East, etc.

Server

For your convenience, we provide servers with the same configuration as our servers in Korea. You can also enhance the Standard and High Memory servers with additional storage from 10GB to 2,000GB. You can find versions for various operating systems including Linux, Windows, and MSSQL. In addition, you can also use various connected services, such as Monitoring, Load Balancer, Public IP, or Snapshot, that are available in Korea.
Meanwhile, you can use various types of additional server products in regions that have completed the infrastructure environment rebuilding, including: SSD Server, VDS (Virtual Dedicated Server), Autoscaling, Object Storage, NAS, and IPSec VPN. (Currently, rebuilding is complete in Singapore, Japan, US-West, and Germany.)

Copy of Server Image and Snapshot

To create a server with an identical configuration in a new region, just copy or replicate the server image. You can also use snapshots to increase the storage of a server in a new region. Both of these services are provided at no additional cost. (Storage costs are occurred in the region where the storage is moved to). Please be aware that it generally takes longer to replicate or move between regions than within a region.

Load Balancer

Load balancers are provided by region to allow you to distribute network traffic to multiple servers in relation to the server load. The network traffic used for external communications in each region can be managed with a public IP-based Load Balancer. Also, a private Load Balancer is provided to distribute the server load of a private network within the region configured with a private IP. For both public and private load balancers, you will be charged only for the usage time (based on the number of created load balancers). For communication with private load balancers in another region, the fee for a global-dedicated line is applied.

Object Storage

With Object Storage, you must safely store data using a public IP and API. An API that is compatible with Amazon S3 is provided so you can use the application programs that are created based on Amazon S3 products as they are. Object Storage is a region-based service that is built in each region. Therefore, it is more efficient to store data created in each region. It is possible to transfer data between regions, but transfer errors may occur due to the latency of internet lines and may affect the quality of your service. (Currently, rebuilding is complete in Singapore, Japan, US-West, and Germany.)

Global-dedicated lines

The servers and load balancers in global regions allow public-IP communication through internet lines and private-IP communication through global-dedicated lines. If several regions are integrated in a single environment, you can improve the service availability by setting the global-dedicated line as the primary line and the public internet line as the secondary line. This configuration not only improves the stability of the network, but also reduces your costs.

Private Subnet Peering

Using the global network of the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM, you can have stable communication by peering connections with the private subnets of other regions. You can improve the security vulnerabilities that may occur in internet area and maintain a stable network quality. [Application for use]

Anti-DDoS/IDS Security

The competence in security services that are verified via operation of global services, such as NAVER and LINE, is one of the great strengths of the NAVER CLOUD PLATFORM. Various solutions and infrastructure equipment necessary for security service are established in each region and customer data protection is possible with years of security operation skills and experience. (Anti-DDoS can be received from Security Monitoring Managed service. Security Monitoring service is possible only in Korea/Singapore/Japan/U.S. west/Germany regions and under preparation so it can be provided in all regions in the future.)
